Base Access

The gun club is located on Barksdale AFB.  Access to the Base can be obtained one of three ways. A drivers license, car registration and proof of insurance are required in all cases. The first is to call the gun club at 318.456.4582 and ask to placed on the Entry Access List, EAL.  Tell the Guards at the gates that you are on the EAL List, when entering.  The second way is to apply for a gate access pass, which is valid for 1 year.  Click Here for the application form. Take or email the completed application form to the gun club manager.  Once you are called that the application is approved, the access card is obtained inside the base at Base Security Force building near the museum;  It is open at varying times depending on the day of the week.  If you have never had a pass or your previous pass has expired, you will have to enter through the Visitors Center located at the West Gate Monday through Thursday 7:30 AM to 4:00 pm and obtain a visitors pass to be able to enter the base and to go the main security building. You may find it helpful to coordinate with the gun club to pick up your gate access pass if you have never done it before.  The base access pass is by far the easiest to use but does require a little effort to obtain.  In either of these two access scenarios, access is either through the Bodcau or West Gate as shown on the map. The 3rd way is call the gun club and tell them you need to be escorted to the gun club.  They will meet you inside the Visitors Center at the West Gate to get a day pass (this is time consuming).   PLEASE NOTE:  DO NOT SPEED and DO NOT CARRY A FIREARM OTHER THAN YOUR SHOTGUNS.
